We stand at the nexus of two worlds, a portal into the unknown. Two half’s representing a whole, one half a twin of the other, one represents the real, the other, the virtual. 

Trees also represent for me, conduits to other realms, they too are the nexus between worlds and dimensions, so I often represent them in my virtual work. They become the imaginative bridge between the physical and the virtual. They are the symbolic portals like Yggdrasil the world tree holding the nine worlds: this I think, is a perfect allegorical representation of the Metaverse.

As this artwork is about the nexus or portal between worlds and realities, I wanted to create a journal of the moments where it seems the membrane between realities seems thinner and more permeable.

A shivering river of tiny leaves skipped and shimmied along Atlantic Boulevard through the 2pm traffic, dancing like sand on a drum, as if the tarmac itself were strung with unseen tensions only they responded to. In this moment, it seemed these hidden currents briefly flowed through our world and into another.
